A strong voice and strong support for Victorian Landcare
Marking the thirty-year anniversary in Melbourne today, Senator the Hon. Bridget McKenzie, Minister for Agriculture launched the national Landcare 30-year anniversary celebrations to an audience which included local members, LVI Chair David Clark and many notable landcarers who have been involved since the formation of the moment in Victoria in 1986.
Attendees heard from Minister McKenzie who said ‘Australian farmers have an international reputation as sustainable land managers and Landcare has played a significant role in the future adoption of innovative agricultural practices”, “By making a difference and helping to create healthy soils, vegetation and supporting biodiversity, Landcarers and farmers are playing a part in growing a sustainable Australian agriculture industry.”
Newly appointed Landcare 30-year anniversary ambassador, Sophie Taylor-Price, paid tribute to her grandfather’s vision for the future by calling on all Australians to work together to enhance environmental conservation.

Leadership Development Grants 2020 - Now open until 27 March 2020
The Leadership Development Grants program is designed to strengthen skills and capabilities while fostering a new generation of leaders in catchment management. Grants of up to $10,000 are available for travel, study, research, training and other forms of professional development for integrated catchment management. Stories being sought for Landcare magazine Winter 2020 Issue
Stories are being sought for issue 78 of the Victorian Landcare and Catchment Management magazine, which is a feature on Landcare and emergency recovery. How Landcare groups and networks have planned for and responded to environmental and social emergencies in their communities. This includes the role that Landcare has played in supporting and enabling local communities and landowners to respond to, recover from, and plan for emergencies such as bushfires, droughts, floods, and to also mitigate and adapt to the impact of climate change.
